Indeed, I'm no expert because I can't figure out S&P or Dow/Nasdaq I just mean the climate in general of corporate mergers in general over the years. For instance, smaller banks have been merged or bought out all over the country so many times it's ridiculous. Small hardware stores can't compete with home depot or walmart so they have closed down in the past. I don't want to get into any kind of monopoly type of thing but sure, this is the nature of economics or business, I guess. Ok then, isn't that the risk these conglomerates take? Didn't they have corporate lawyers, accountants, advising them about what's going on? Is the country already in a quagmire with tax laws and intervention by the government? Where was the governement when small shops and grocery stores couldn't compete against Wallmart? Now we have AIG. Sounds to me like the bigger they are, the harder they fall. Why shouldn't AIG go under? Sure it will hurt alot of people. People have been hurt in the past by aggressive mergers in the past. Nobody bailed them out. Perhaps this could be the rise of the Phoenix, so to speak, of smaller banks and insurance companies, etc. that have that instinct of customer service and survival. Not trying to take over the world, and when they fail ask the govt. to dish out $700,000,000,000.



Concerning the bail out, what about the economics of business in general?

I'm no green thumb, good people, so I should have thought over doing a plant-related science fair project. I'd like to know of some easy plants I can pick up at a Wal-mart or Home Depot, and that I can plant outdoors. Do any of y'all know something that isn't too much of a handful for a newbie, and that can handle Arkansas's fall climate??I'm going to plant one in an organic soil, the other in an inorganic soil, and then see my results.



What are some easy outdoor plants for the fall?

I am trying to install a sprinkler system and I am confused on the different types of pipe. I live in an area in the north that has a frost depth of 3ft. and understand that it is better to use poly pipe for that climate. I was looking at the DIG poly pipe with a 1/2 in diameter to run from the valves to the sprinkler heads. The guys at Home Depot told me that I shouldn't bury that kind of pipe, that I should run it above ground, and use solid PVC for underground. However, every book and website I've read, suggests either as an option. Basically, I don't have a truck to carry 20' pieces of PVC and I am planning to redo the landscape in 2-3 years so Poly pipe seems to be the best solution. Can I bury 1/2" poly tubing 6"-8" deep and use it in my sprinkler system (instead of PVC)? -My PSI is 120 (I plan to put a pressure regulator on) -My mainline (into the house) is 3/4"
